Fanlistings

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Fanlistings

Postby ancazur on Sat Jul 24, 2010 2:08 am

As I was cleaning up my website stuff, I realized I still have an active fanlisting. I figured I'd clean it up, make it look like it's somewhat active, and was checking member websites in case anything was inactive. I thought fanlistings were all but dead, but it seems there are still people out there that join/advertise them. Do people even pay attention anymore? I got rid of most of them out of boredom, but for some reason couldn't let go of Vonnegut. It's still going strong, somehow.

Man, I remember applying at thefanlistings.org and then stressing whether they'd accept my application  I kind of miss the good ol' days of the internet.

I had no idea that people still used them! I also remember the whole deal with tfl - good old times.

I went through a massive obsession with them a few years ago, but I haven't been on any in abour four years lol.

It's funny you bring that up, I just looked up TFL.org the other day... I can't remember what triggered it in my mind but I suddenly just thought "Do fanlistings still exist?"

I seem to remember chucking them because it suddenly dawned on me that basically all they were was a website that you had to make to someone else's rules. I got really sick of the arsey emails I'd get if I hadn't "updated" recently enough.

^ Yeah that was my big issue. I continually received emails that they weren't updated enough. Not my fault if no one joins
