BUNNY!!!

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

BUNNY!!!

I'd like to introduce you all to Barbarella, my new pet rabbit!

rabbit.jpg

She's only 8 weeks old and I've had her for just a couple of days. She's a wee cutie and in the past day and night has been less shy and started running around a bit more!

My mum and dad bought her as a (very) early birthday gift for me.

I call her Babs for short sometimes.

aw yay! I used to have a bunny. She was my favorite pet ever.

She's so tiny. I love rabbits

When my sister & I had bunnies, they were complete opposites. Her's would run away the first moment he could, but mine was perfectly content plopping on the grass and eating. And seldom moving. At least Barbarella sounds to be on the non-lazy side :P

aaawwww I used to have rabbits when I was a kid, until I grew too allergic to come anywhere near them.
She's adorable!
one small bit of advice: pick her up and handle her as often as you can, especially now when she's still little. My first rabbit came from a kindergarten so it was used to being handled a LOT and it was completely fearless and extremely tame, I would hold it like a baby in my arms (upside down), and walk around the village for hours and hours on end, when I was very young. I would even ride it around in a toy pram for hours and hours. That rabbit was completely relaxed in human hands because it was used to it from a very eary age. I had other rabbits but none were ever as tame as Qupido.

Yeah Marianne, I try and interact with her and hold her as much as I can. She's pretty tame - surprisingly so this early on, actually.

In the shop the girl picked her up and she was a bit 'kicky' and shaking but she doesn't really do that with me. It was only after I'd spent my first day holding her and having her sit next to me on the sofa that I read the advice leaflet properly and it said you shouldn't attempt to pick up or pet your rabbit for at least a couple of days because they'd be too nervous!

Leyla was petting her and letting her run around her sofa last night so she wasn't just used to me. But she's pretty happy to be handled by anyone it seems.

She's a house rabbit because we don't have a garden - although even if I did have a garden I'm not sure how happy I'd be letting her outside. There's quite a number of foxes around and my aunt lost a couple of rabbits to foxes a few years ago.

She's my first rabbit - although I wanted one as a child - so I'm still learning. But she seems relatively easy to take care of so far!

Krissy - neither was I, but as I'm 29 and living on my own (well, apart from the Stripper) I'm allowing it! hehe

Lol! I'm adamant that when I live on my own I'm getting some fish. My mum won't let me have any because they scare her...

See even with still living at home, there was a point that I stopped caring. Not that I want a large animal, but when I randomly came home with fish and my mom looked at me funny, she didn't have the authority to say anything about it anymore :P

Now THAT'S a plan! However, my mum's argument is that she'd end up looking after it, and she would because come September I'll be back at uni 50 miles away :P

See I bought my fish when I was at school. Then there's no discussion when he has to come home

Now I want to invest in another fish...

You have a point there lol. Although my mum or nan probably would've just given it to one of our neighbours, since they all have fish. You should do it :P

It sounds like bunnies are popular pets in Europe? I think my old babysitter's grandson may have had a rabbit, but I think that's the only person I can remember having one...

She is very cute though!
